Additional Notes by The Halls



1. Mary Temple nee Jeans, Frank's eldest daughter and first cousin to Eric Hall recalled - 'I was the last I believe to see Aunt Betsy (Elizabeth, widow of Robert Gabriel Albert  GAUBERT) alive, as I visited them (Betsy and Tania) in Sydenham in a flat (Betsy died  07.03.1939 Bromley). Tania married Col. John Crocker 07.04.1943 and they lived at Fursden near Tiverton in Devon. Mother (Phillis Jeans) said the house and grounds were delightful, and the couple charming with four lovely children. He kept pedigree cattle. There were portraits all over the walls. They seem to have vanished after that without a trace. Since then we have discovered that Tatiana Nancy Crocker died 13.10.86 at an address in  London leaving a will and three children. Her husband, John Delamain Crocker was alive in December 1982 when her will was made.
2. The Census of 30th August 1825 records Lucy GAUBERT of 119, Chancery Lane aged 4wks, another record of 17th. Feb.1831 shows Mary GAUBERT of Chancery Lane aged 1 day.
3. George Frederick GAUBERT born in Middx, baptised on 03.06.1792 in Westminster at St Ann Soho, died Islington 11th. Sept.1871. His father was George GAUBERT born 1772 who first married Sarah Harris born 1797 in 1817, his death was 24.11.1838; that his second wife was Elizabeth born in 1794. It further shows his children as -

a. Sarah (1818 - 13.08.1890) married John Milne Kitson Aitken

b. George Edward who went to Australia with Sarah and her husband

c. Frederick (1827-1899) baptised on 27.08.1827 at St.Dunstans in the West who died unmarried

4. that Georgiana Waight (1829-1896) was baptised on 10.06.1829 at St. Dunstans in the West, died unmarried

John GAUBERT in Australia advised me that he had found the marriage of John Robert Nicholas GAUBERT in 1861 at Wandsworth ref.1D 663.
6. From Westminster City Library - ' Peter Gaubert of this parish and Ann Waight of the parish of St. Giles, Cripplegate were married in this... 13th day of June 1768 by me Ben Salmon, curate '
