Fleet Street, looking westwards, in 1830.
Slightly left of centre is the famous church clock of St Dunstan's in the West overhanging the street. A number of our ancestors are recorded in the church registers. Beyond is the Temple arch. The shop of Clark and Weatherley in the foreground must be very close to the junction with Chancery Lane where George Frederick Gaubert had his house just yards away at 119. Below 1896 |

George Frederick Gaubert and his family lived, and had his legal stationary business, at 119 here in the early 19th. century just a few doors up on the left hand side | This painting appears to have been done after 1880 as the building on the extreme left seems more modern than its predecessor in the drawing to the left. |
9 or 10 (both numbers are recorded), Ashby Road, Islington. The 1851 census records this house as the home of Edward and his wife Elizabeth together with their son Edward, a bookseller's assistant. |

All Souls, Langham Place - in 1859 Mrs Mary Gaubert was a lodging-house keeper at No.28. The 1861 census records her together with sons John and Arhur both dentists at the same house. She was recorded here until 1871 |

Doctors Common about 1894. The buildings are awaiting demolition. In 1783, Stephen the son of Peter Gaubert of George Court, Doctors Common, was apprenticed to John Jefferson, jeweller of nearby Fleet Street. |
