The cemetery, dating from 1693, is close to the Shelbourne Hotel on Stephen's Green but is normally locked. It contains the the 239 Huguenots in Dublin buried in a collective burial, who survived on a small street near a park, Mansion Row. You can look through the railings and see the gravestones clearly. This memorial, just inside the entrance gate, lists the 239 families, including 'Gaubert', known to have been buried in the cemetery. Unfortunately, the site was locked so I was unable to see any family plot.

In 2009 I bought a DVD copy of the Registers of the French Non-Conformist Churches of Lucy Lane and Peter Street, Dublin, originally published in 1901 by Thomas Philip Le Fanu from which I quote -

"The first account book of the Church (purchased by Dr. Diggcs La Touche at the sale of the Library of Dr. Caulfield of Cork unfortunately ends in the beginning of the following year leaving a gap in its records until 1701, which can only be partially filled by means of the indications afforded by the wills of sundry members of the congregation. Mr. Whitshed died m 1697, and shortly afterwards M. Balaguier and M. Darassus transferred their services to a Church on the north side of the river, newly established in an ancient chapel on a site, known as the Jesuits' Lands, on the west side of Lucy Lane, otherwise Mass Street and now Chancery Place. This Church was sometimes called the French Church by the Inns. Its burial ground is in Merrion Row, off Stephen's Green and continues to be used occasionally. The last entry in the Register of a burial in Peter Street Cemetery is in 1879, and the last entry for Merrion Row is in 1887, but in the latter burials have taken place even up to the present year.

So, the record on the stone in Merrion Row must refer to a Gaubert who was a member of the congregation of Lucy Lane Non-Conformist Church.

The Parish Register Society of Dublin, The Registers of Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials in the Collegiate and Cathedral Church of St. Patrick, Dublin 1677-1800 - The Burial registers for 1771-1831 record "Jeanne Gaubert, nee Lavau, morte le 24e d'Avril agee de 25 ans, a ete enterree le 25e dudit mois au Green"

The Huguenots had another cemetery in Cathedral Lane

The Cabbage Garden is a former burial ground off Upper Kevin St. in Dublin's south inner city. It was consecrated by Archbishop Margetson in 1668. It consisted of a plot of land which was set apart by the Dean and Chapter of St. Patrick's Cathedral in 1666 for the purposes of a cemetery for the inhabitants of St. Patrick's Close and of the parish of St. Nicholas Without, as their cemetery had become overcrowded. Later part of this plot was reserved for the burial of Huguenots, who worshipped in the Lady Chapel in the Cathedral.

The name of the plot can be traced back to the arrival of Oliver Cromwell in Dublin 1649, who planted cabbages on this spot to feed his soldiers.

The burial ground was closed early in the 20th century. Towards the end of the century part of the ground was converted into a public park
