Roman advises me of the following
record from the Alphabetical Index of Aliens in England, Denizations
and Naturalisations (PRO, Chancery Lane, London), extract notes:
GAUBERT
Tatiana Nancy, uncertain nationality
28.6,.1934, Date of Oath 29.6.1934, Place of residence London, No of
Certificate CZ106-G.123
In December
2004) I had a
look at www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk.
This showed that the UK government held a file at the National Archives
at Kew on Tatyana Gaubert but that it would not be accessible to the
public until 2035. The file number was HO 405/ 15848 re Gaubert T N
date
of birth Sept 1913 and related to the period Jan 01 1930
until Dec 31 1934. The prefix HO signified a record created or
inherited by the Home Office. HO 405 further identified the
file as concerning Aliens Department, Aliens personal files personal
files, applications for naturalisation. The file was in English with a
former reference department code of G 123. The closure criterion given
said that the file contained sensitive personal information which would
substantially distress or endanger a living person or his or her
descendants.
I
wrote to the National Archives and persauaded
them to open the file and below is a copy of the correspondence that is
now available for public viewing.
